Wild Winter Weekends at the Detroit Zoo and is a fun way to experience the Zoo in winter. Enjoy your favorite habitats, special activities including children’s music, zookeeper talks, crafts and much more.


Wild Winter Weekends are January 14 & 15, February 11 & 12, and March 10 & 11, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and each month has a different wild adventure. Wild Winter African Adventure

Celebrate Wild Winter African Adventure in honor of Black History Month. Take an African drum lesson or learn about African animals through storytelling with David Gakure, Kenyan naturalist and Detroit Zoological Society Education Specialist. Other activities include live entertainment, arts and crafts, games and educational experiences.
