Free Admission to the Detroit Science Center 12/3

The Detroit Science Center will be open for the 39th Annual Noel Night Celebration, Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The Detroit Science Center will open its doors to the public free of charge* for Noel Night activities taking place in and around over 60 of Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center institutions. Activities for the Downtown event include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 120 area music, theatre and dance groups.

The performance & activities line-up at the Detroit Science Center includes:

5:00 - 8:45 p.m. Choral groups will welcome guests to the Science Center on the main level

5:45 & 7:45 p.m. Michael Cooper ―Masked Marvels & Wondertales‖ on the Chrysler Science Stage

5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Hudsonville Ice Cream Company refreshments served from the main level cafe

5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Take-your-own photos with Santa in the Wonderland Ice Cave on the lower level

5:00 - 8:30 p.m. Holiday classics ―Frosty the Snowman‖ and ―Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer‖ will alternate throughout the evening in the Toyota Engineering Theater

& 8:30 p.m. The Light Before Christmas in the Chrysler IMAX® Dome Theatre*

5:30 & 7:30 p.m. Dinosaur Planet in the Dassault Systèmes Planetarium*

6:30 & 8:30 p.m. What’s Up? in the Dassault Systèmes Planetarium*

5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Dinosaurs Unearthed will be open on level 4*

*Chrysler IMAX® Dome Theatre and Dassault Systèmes Planetarium shows are $5 for one show or $8 for two shows on Noel Night. Dinosaurs Unearthed admission is $6. There is no charge to enjoy the Science Center’s hands-on exhibits and special Noel Night performances.
