Little Ones Books Review and Giveaway*CLOSED*
I recently had the opportunity to check out a great website called, LittleOneBooks.com. What a find! I felt like I was at a local neighborhood, small town shoppe, where they know everything about the products they sell and know you by name. This website is just like one of those rare gems. In a world of overwhelming choices for children's books, music and videos, this family operated business, started by two grandparents who were bewildered by that same vast assortment of children’s books, music and videos, recognized this problem and decided to solve it by creating Little One Books. An online store that specializes in quality books, music, and videos for children birth to age five and helps guide the visitor to age appropriate products for children. Besides having all the products offered broken down by age groups, my favorite feature is the "Why We Chose This ..." on each and every product featured on the website, personal reviewed by them. It gives detailed information about why they have recommended that particular product and have found it to be quite helpful when choosing products for my family.
We decided to choose the DVD video, How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?...and more dinosaur tales Written and narrated by Jane Yolen, and illustrated by Mark Teague, to review. My boys are currently fascinated with dinosaurs and we plan to attend one of the dinosaur exhibits that have come to the Metro Detroit Area recently at either Cranbrook Institute of Science and the Detroit Science Center. Knowing we'd be reading many books about dinosaurs in the coming weeks, I thought this would be different and fun to watch a book come to life.
This DVD video had three stories to watch, How "Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?", "How Do Dinosaurs Get Well?," "How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food?" each story was delightfully animated as each of the fun loving misbehaving dinosaurs act out what little kids often do at bedtime, dinnertime and even when they are sick and how they *should* act. There was many bonus features and an extra stories on the DVD, "Danny the Dinosaur", "Dinosaur Bones", "Stanley and the Dinosaur",and "T is for Terrible". This DVD also had a Read Along option, which was a close caption option but is also great for children that can read along. Both my boys, age 4.5 years and 3 years old enjoyed watching the DVD and all the stories included. Giggling as they watched the dinosaurs misbehave and curious to learn the many fun facts included in the bonus features. After watching the whole 85 minute long DVD they wanted to watch it all over again, but maybe thats because it was bedtime. ;)I really enjoyed visiting Little One Books and honestly recommend you check them out too! Their website is easy to navigate, offers many great options for books, music and videos, reasonably priced and they pride themselves on friendly customer service.
