Do you know about the Great Lake Live Steamers? Every third weekend from May to October at Kiwanis Park, in Southgate, the family can enjoy free train rides. The kicker to the fun FREE event the trains are 1/8 Scale running on 7.5 inch gauge track. They might be small but everyone enjoys them. In the middle of the park, there are a few swings and slides to have fun on if you decide to take a break. There's no limit to how many rides you can take, however the ladies and gentlemen that volunteer their time do appreciate any money donation to help keep the trains running.

This weekend is their Halloween run. Friday, October 14 from 4 pm to 8 pm & Saturday, October 15 from 4 pm to 8 pm, ride thru the park all decorated for Halloween. Sunday is not a part of the Halloween run all decorations will have been taken down before the run. Hours on Sunday 12 pm to 4 pm.
